“The land plot sold is exclusive for the land market of St. Petersburg. Similar objects for housing construction in historic part of the city are very rare. In St. Petersburg there is only one similar proposal, which is comparable in area and cost. This is a plot on the corner of Makarov embankment and Sredny avenue of Vasilievsky Island, with an area of 1.2 thousand sq. m. Bidding for it scheduled for 12 November, starting price – 185 million rubles.
Auctions for sale of private property, especially of objects of this class, take place quite rare. But it is sales at auctions that allow to generate market value of objects and make the market more transparent and more open for other players. Today's auction is a vivid confirmation of that” (Konstantin Rayev, First Deputy General Director of RAD).
