Palace on the Yauza
The Auction House of the Russian Federation in Moscow is preparing to sell the building of the theater and concert hall “Palace on the Yauza” near the embankment of the Yauza River.
The Palace on the Yauza is one of the best theater and concert halls in Moscow. It regularly holds international festivals, theater performances, concerts of academic music, opera and ballet productions, dance projects, jazz evenings, world music concerts and productions for children.
The palace building is located in the Preobrzahenskoe district, three metro stations from the Kremlin and three minutes’ walk from the Elektrozavodskaya metro station.

The palace was built in 1903 and designed by the architect I.A. Ivanov-Schitz. The theater troupe of A. Vakhrushin was the first to appear on the stage of the “Vvedensky People’s House” (as the palace was originally called). In 1947, the building was reconstructed in the style of Stalinist empire. It was here that the Mossoviet Theater worked under the leadership of Yury Zavadsky. And from the 1980s to the 2000s, Viktor Tsoi, Boris Grebenshchikov, Pyotr Mamonov and many others performed here.
In 2007-2008, complete reconstruction of the building and adjacent territories was carried out. Today, the palace is a modern concert complex which includes a large hall with a total area of 250.6 sq.m., equipped with a stage with a reversible rotating circle and a system for converting the audience seats; three chamber halls, with an area of 79 sq.m. each, four spacious foyers; three rehearsal halls with a total area of 579 sq.m., ten make-up rooms and a cafeteria with home-made food.
The area of the palace territory surrounded by fence is 0.89 hectares. There are also parking spaces for 52 cars.
The Palace on the Yauza is one of the ten best-known concert venues in Moscow. The large hall is a standard location for filming television programs by the leading Russian TV channels – Rossiya, Kultura, Channel One, STS.
